Location portfolio shoot

The idea for this portfolio shoot was to use the sunset as the main light.  The shoot itself was put together in a hurry.  I scouted a location, organised a hair stylist/MUA, assistant and someone to shoot BTS video in a couple of days.  The only problem was finding a model at short notice!  Luckily, Kate (our hair stylist) brought along her friend Jess who was happy to help out as our model for the evening.

I packed a selection of lenses to cover most bases (see kit list).  In hindsight I could of just packed the 24-105 and the 70-200 as I didn't need to shoot wider than F2.8.  Lighting was a mixture of ambient light and strobe.  Power for the strobes came from an Innovatronix Explorer XT battery pack.  This battery pack constantly amazes me with the amount of flashes I can get from a single charge!  I shot a mixture of styles using the sun as a key and a fill light.  The sun sets incredibly quickly so the end of the shoot was a little chaotic but we came away with some good shots.  :)

Big thanks to all the team who gave up their time to make this shoot happen.
